Joseph Bondarenko travels to Kiev, Ukraine during the increasing crisis in the country. Joseph is a native born of Ukraine who spent his childhood and youth years in the Eastern part of the country and started his ministry in the city of Odessa, which is situated on the shores of the Black Sea. He knows the language, culture, the heart of the people and the escalating situation in the region. He takes his compassionate heart and encouragement to the churches and hurting people at this very difficult hour of trials.
For decades, the Lord has used Joseph to lead the people of God during the severe oppression of believers of all faiths by the Soviet government and the KGB. His boldness for Christ and involvement with the Underground Baptist Church led to nearly 10 years of imprisonment and five years of underground activity. He has seen and experienced the brutal and deceiving tactics of the KGB firsthand, and today he sees it is being repeated in Ukraine.
Joseph is expected to meet with his friend, acting interim President of the Ukraine, Mr. Oleksand Turchynov, who is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and the spiritual influence for the current leadership in the country. Please pray for the President and the leading government officials for the sense of direction and a good resolve of the current crisis.
